AREAS OF PRACTICE
Civil Litigation
Civil Litigation generally includes all disputes that are formally submitted to a court about any subject in which one party is claimed to have committed a wrong, but not a crime. In practice and in ordinary conversation, lawyers and others concerned with civil litigation tend to treat many specialized subjects as outside this definition, such as labor law, as well as divorce actions and even small claims cases, even though all of these are technically types of "civil" litigation.
Goldstein & Metzger, LLP represents and advises clients who are or might become involved in civil litigation as a result of a dispute, including prevention and settlement, in such areas as personal injury and employment claims, contract disputes, family law, and commercial matters. Clients include public and privately held companies in a wide array of industries. They also include business professionals, entrepreneurs, homeowners' associations, franchises, employers, employees, and individuals.
Paul Goldstein and
Mark Metzger are full-time litigators with a broad range of experience handling and successfully concluding business litigation cases in all Federal and State courts, as well as appeals to both Federal and State Appellate courts. The types of litigation handled by the firm include both simple and complex contract disputes, personal injury actions, employment contracts, unfair business practices, covenants against competition, injunction actions, appeals and trials, real estate litigation, and will contests / estate litigation.
In addition to the above, our firm also devotes time to counseling clients in their day-to-day business and legal concerns. This includes advice on how to minimize the risks of litigation, which is often best tackled by making sure that contracts are negotiated properly at the outset.
